Pittsburgh International Airport Gas Well Infrastructure

Well Infrastructure

NGE was retained by the prime consultant, Civil and Environmental Consultants (CEC), to complete geotechnical gas well infrastructure investigations at the six proposed well pads, three centralized impoundments, and a horizontal directional drilling location for a pipeline roadway crossing.

CNX Resources (CNX) leased property from Allegheny County at the Pittsburgh International Airport for oil and gas extraction. Six multi-well pads are to be developed, as are three centralized impoundments and a network of gathering pipelines around the perimeter of the airport. The prime consultant to CNX and CONE Gathering (a Consol/Noble Energy Joint Venture), Civil and Environmental Consultants (CEC), retained NGE to complete geotechnical gas well infrastructure investigations at the six proposed well pads, three centralized impoundments, and a horizontal directional drilling location for a pipeline roadway crossing. NGE conducted the geotechnical test boring program, completed laboratory testing of the soils, and prepared geotechnical reports for the facilities. The project involved compressed schedules, detailed health and safety procedures and an emphasis on worksite safety.
